HydroStar USA [website], located in Portland, Oregon, has created the world's first completely green electrolyte to produce low cost hydrogen without pollution. This non-toxic and inexpensive electrolyte produces hydrogen using simple and rugged stainless steel electrolyzers (low capEx <$250/kW). This technology will allow you to store 1000's of Megawatts from stranded renewable power in the form of hydrogen. Hydrogen produced without the use of PEM rare-earth metals or steam reformation.

The company is currently completing a U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Storage SBIR Phase 1 for demonstrating its capabilities to take excess solar, convert it to hydrogen and then provide it to its downstream partner to create onsite ammonia.

Management is searching for a sustainable investment stream of at least $10 million over 3 years to develop and demonstrate its production system (~1MW) and bring it to market.
